The idea of associating with knights that bore a title with the word 'gold' made him somewhat uneasy. Wealthy knights in his time were closely aligned to princes who bought their own fame and pretended to actually be great warriors. With the right amount of wealth, very few people would disagree. Though he knew for a fact that Diarmuid's valor was worthwhile, he preferred to associate with him as a friend and not from that perspective of rank.

That was partially why he was upset. If he was to only regard himself as Diarmuid's friend, the perspective he should have had was to feel fortunate Diarmuid was alive. He shouldn't have felt that notion of 'imperfection' was worthy of bringing up.

"It's nothing consequential, Diarmuid," He touched his brow, looking to dismiss himself. "I'm irritated over something. It's nothing worth worrying about."
